Nice work. Though I really don't like the P90/M9 cross pistol thing the Noir guy has, it just looks funny.

Thanks everybody for the kind words !!!
spyroteknik : my "diversity" is sometimes a problem for some reasons...I personaly like working on not only just one side... Something about schizoprenia ? about doubts ? about the need to please the most people ? about the fear of not earning my living if I do only what I really like ?...
But nevertheless, I really like working like that...
gasmask : thanks and thanks again :)
Cloak : for this one it's all CGI (photoshop only). Sweat and a lot of work...I didn't work with artline but it's more like carved from the block.. I use quite the same basics that when i was doing acrylic paintings..
AmadorL : No but I'll try to put some sketches on my website and I'll post them here...I've got a lot of sketchbook but I don't like to show them.
for the polar piece :
I've taken my father for model - I'm really proud of it :)
here is some samples of the photos I've used for this one :
http://www.aneyeoni.com/ART/Misc/Aleksi-photos-Polar-Erick2.945_526.jpg
the final picture is a mix between photographs, matte painting technics and traditional paint...

congrats on the american publishing of your spawn work...
you didn't hear this from me, but there are those that think you should be doing the core Spawn title...
maybe you should try to jump on the revamp of Hellspawn!!?
anyways...
your work is an inspiration...

Wow. This stuff reminds me so much of Dave McKean's stuff on Vertigo Comics. How do You do the designing part like in Spawn and stuff? Is it totally like Photoshop manipilations. What is the procedure You follow while designing.
Dominie_Dirtch
January 19th, 2004, 09:27 AM
I don't know, I think it appears to have more traditional ilustration/painting methods than something like Dave McKean or Ben Templesmith would do.
I would be interested to know the process behind a lot of these insanely complex textures, and almost photorealistic backgrounds.

Obliticon : you didn't hear this from me but I can't tell you more about that...:p
We'll see...
Hellspawn would be great :D maybe some new pieces soon :p
Vikas and Dominie : Thanks for the kind words and the prestigious comparisons. I've learned graphic design at school (and not drawing or painting). MacKean is a genius. And actually, my work is certainly more classical illustration oriented and certainly less intelligent that his work...I really would to push the graphic signs, symbolism, surprise and intelligence further....
For designing, I almost use only photoshop or traditionnal things. So that's why I said that I'm not a real graphic designer... It seems I work on it like if it was illustrations (compositions, textures...)
I'll try to do some step by step some day...
Each piece I've posted here were done with completly different process (pencils, ink, traditionnal paint, CGI, photomanipulations...)
thanks again !!

OH man!!!...
that would be bad ass if you were the new Hellspawn artist...
IMO...you would be the perfect artist to continue what Ash Wood and Ben Templsmith have done...its all a matter of evolution...tell Mcf I said said so :D :chug:
