The point of this thread is to give ideas to people for things to draw/do to improve as artists. Also we can discuss which of those things are most effective and why. I notice that often people do too much of the same thing or are at a loss as to what they should draw. Hopefully this will help (sorry if there's already a thread like this somewhere)

Draw from life (still life, landscape, people, etc.)
Draw from your imagination
Mentoring threads on CA
Weekly contests on CA
Anatomy study
Read an art history book
Read art blogs / save a lot of inspiring artwork from all over the internet
Draw studies from books (such as Bridgman)
Draw from reference photos (make a folder for all types of subjects)
Master copies
Digital Painting tutorials
Traditional painting
Practice perspective
Draw self portraits
Find someone to collaborate with and try to learn from them
Do the Concept Art 101 thread on CA

For things like anatomy, you may want to make a schedule to study one body part a week and try to stick to it. Whatever works.

I think drawing from life is the most effective way, but I think that you should do multiple things. I try to combine these things each month, but I think things like drawing from life and imagination should be done all the time. (I actually need to do that much more)

Great list! I may have to try the scheduling-your-anatomy idea. Thank you, jeremy :)
