ok i'm curious and i want to know whose french artists (singers,actors,etc...) are known in the USA ??

Im from germany, so I know some.
I think guys like Charles Aznavour are rather known - not by the masses though.
Jean Reno is well known, too - but only because hes been doing lots of hollywood productions.

its rather strange most americans dont even know the most popular stars over here in europe. Robbie Williams (europes most succesful singer), Kylie Minogue, Atomic Kitten, Coldplay etc. - dunno, but I dont think theyre popular at all in the US.

Whats with german bands, actors etc.?

I went to America 6 or 7 years ago, and asked them if they knew blur. Blur were immensely popular at the time with their happy stupid anthem 'song 2'. My host said told me, no, she had no idea who they were, but she thought Rammstein were pretty cool. Huh? What? Did i miss something?
Well, as far as french stuff goes, um… yeah, you know… i have no idea. MC Solar? Oh and that other guy. Uh, guys. You know, hip hop stuff. :rolleyes:

OK They're not singing that much but songs like "something about us" from Daft Punk shows, that they are able to sing... imho :D
