woaw !! I love how that second one can be read in many ways. My intellect tries to find clues in order to see "something" real and it finds many translations. kinda fun !! I'm impressed.

Heh, guys!

Nice to have my fifteen minutes :chug: . I'm quite proud of the second one, I reckon.

Too much questions to answer and too little time. Let me address the last guy, your own answer is probably there.

the rendering style of the second piece reminds me of blinn shader or 3d rendering. are these pieces stricly paintings or are there 3 dimensional elements? excellent color selection

No 3D elements at all. Sorry, I don't know what a Blinn Shader is (proud 3D illiterate here).

I guess you can say these are strictly 2D, but not strictly paintings. The hard edges of the second one were smoothed out (and sometimes enhanced) - guess a 3D guy would say "rendered" - with a combination of [Painter] filters and custom brushes apllied to a previous, more textured, painting.

So - once you get patient and lucky enough, yes, you can do both in one very peculiar, very surreal day.

Will try to post more of my "strict paintings" later on. AND - more of these.

Cheers,

Paulo

OK, guys,

You've made my day with your kind comments. These have too a hyper-realist finish for my taste, but I shall go back to this approach as soon as I have the time.

Until then,

Cheers,

P

Not to offend but I usually hate surreal stuff. This is the first time I've ever really gotten into it. I'm talking about the second one. The first one I'm not into to tell the truth. That second one is so fuggin creepy i think cause you used a human flesh tone and threw a whole bunch of eyes on it that seem to be looking at me ALL the time. Seriously, that second one is so awesome because of the affect it has on the viewer. I'm stupified whenever I look at it and want to turn away, but I can't. lol. That piece is so damn good, but I never want to see it again if I want to get sleep in the next couple of days. ;)

That is one of the coolest, strangest things I have ever seen. Do you have some work in progress shots? I would love to see how these came together. Great stuff. I hope to see more.
