I did this for the DSG. However, I'm still very new to watercolors, so I was wondering if I should add some pen lines to this piece. It was a very quick sketch, so many of the features (legs, mandibles, etc) are poorly defined. Any crits or suggestions would be great!

Usually the technique is to draw in (waterproof) pen first, then use the watercolors over the drawing. It took me a couple of seconds to make out the legs, because they are really light in comparison to the rest of the insect's body. It would help to give some definition to the image, but it usually works better if you plan to do it that way in the first place and start with the ink.

Keep on drawing. :)
