Remembers me of paintings done by hironimus bosch. But I don´t get the title?
It´s done nicely and transports atmosphere and deepth.
btw, what´s spectrum and why do you keep yer fingers crossed fer them?

Very nice colors! I'd hang it on my wall in no time if it wasn't so unsettling.
I could imagine leaving more space on both sides of the characters. Perhaps not. Great tension between them.

bbwolf: Thanks for posting your thoughts. I appreciate it. You’re not the first to be reminded of Bosch by my work. It actually happens pretty frequently. I think that’s great. Bosch is fantastic. But, I never really think of Bosch while I’m working. Maybe I should. His paintings have a guttural feel to them that mine lack. Here’s another painting (below) that EVERYBODY links with Bosch.
Oh yeah, Spectrum is an annual publication featuring a juried collection of that year’s best sci-fi, fantasy, “fantastic” art. I’m crossing my fingers because it’s probably a one-in-a-hundred chance of my work actually getting in. But I figure it’s a chance worth taking.

Skank: Thanks for chiming in on the Spectrum issue.
carnalizer: Thanks! I’m not so sure about leaving more space on both sides of the characters, but I think you’re TOTALLY right in questioning the composition. Looking at it now, the composition feels very stale to me. *sigh* Oh well, lessons for next time. Again, thanks for writing in.
Any more thoughts? Even though it’s “finished,” I still really value all your criticism.

bbwolf: I changed the title of the thread on your advice. “prey… or lover?” to, “Armless.” It was just a bad joke. Sometimes I think I’m funny.:)
