hey, new here and very glad to be here :chug:
mm..so yeah, straight to things, this is a new piece im coloring and im trying to get that cartoon/sprite type of coloring around the outlines...but its the first time im doing this and I dont really have a clue except for my instincts (using photoshop btw). Add to that the fact that im fairly new at computer coloring and hey...just wondering if anybody has some advice to improve the coloring job (and the drawing too, of course)
anyways, much appreciated

i would say Color theories (http://forums.sijun.com/viewtopic.php?t=36148) such as the one found in Sijun are worth reading. Also pick up a few books but most importantly try try and try some more. I think that the pants need a bid more contrast and maybe overall aswell. The hair seems to lack darks and sense of contrast. Take up a few courses which envolve color for ex: painting,or read and understand color theories...hope this helps

color theory is alsohere (http://www.conceptart.org/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=17837)

thanks a lot! Im definitely looking those up. My problem is that mainly Ive always done B&W art so the whole mixing and playing with colors has always been a challenge, but yeah, thanks again :)
