Since I didn't get any critiques on this DSG, I thought I'd try posting it here to see if I could get a little help. I tried a method illustrated by an artist known as kyoht, where she put a watercolor wash beneath colored pencils, and then acrylic white highlights. However,my paper buckled badly and I tried to flatten it in a book. It made these hard, rippled marks so I tried to work em in as best I could. Is it my paper? Did I make the wash too watery?

Also, comments on the pencilwork and other things would be helpful too, thanks!

im not a watercolorist or anything but i know that even watercolor paper will do that same buckling when soaked....which is why i think they staple it down to a board of some sort to stretch it.....i dont know the specifics but mabey thats you watercolor problem....

and about the design...i love that, it has a very african feel to it, but then it has that uniqueness......very nice

Thanks for your comments! I might go look for some watercolor paper next time, since this time I used your average sketchpad paper, which was probably a big mistake.
