Ok, newbie trying to put her best foot forward. Any helpful feedback is much appreciated.

This was my first assignment for my character design course this past fall. While her character isn't as concise as I"d like it to be, she's still one of my favorites and I'm very happy with the way I rendered her.

Her name is Magpie and she's been wandering the ages in search of... shinies.

Thank you for looking!

I'm not usually too fond of the overly "cutesy" stuff but this is still well done. I like the color choices and the overall finish of the drawing.

But what I really dig are all your sculptures. Some cool, creative stuff going on there.

Woo! Thanks for the warm welcome and the positive feedback!

Glad to see the "cutesy" style is something peple can look past; it can be hard to be taken seriously sometimes, and I don't wanna be labelled as a "mouse-in-a-teacup" artist.

But coolness, thank you!

My only regret is that I started posting here with my current website... it needs uber-redesigning.

Cool style. I love your colours and textures. I still have yet to figure out colour and texture. Good job. I'd like to see more creatures from that world.

Form_n_focus: lol! Yes, that sounds like her... and you'd be surprised what lengths a dopey creature can go to in order to get a new shiny... and how strong she can be when it's REALLY shiny... Glad to hear you like her!

machine god: Thanks! I don't really have many more characters from her world just yet, but I'm considering crossing her over into my other character's world.

enigma: Awesome! Glad to hear she made you smile! Mwee hee heeee!

On another note, I've got some sculptures to show and some other new art. Do finished sculptures go here, or in the 3D forum? Also, is it better to start a new thread for each finished piece, or add to my current thread and alter the first post?

Hey! I got expensive glasses. You keep the "clepto-corn" away from me. I really dig your style.

Good work.

Is that a glass eye on the ground in front of her front hooves?

This is really interesting character. It is very simple style but yet effective. Like the droopy ears - they add to the overall tired mood.
