Hi all again and happy new year!.
I´ve just finished another work. This time is about the figure of the losers. i don´t know if you agree with me but there is something interesting in them Faces with a mixture of dignity and desperation, resistance and pain, ... it´s dificult to find the exact words...
Any way i would like to share the result with you using a group of boxers as a metaphor to transmit that feelings.
Comments are welcome.
Thanks

Excellent work! What type of clay are you using? Are you going for a realistic look, or more stylized?

Nice stuff!!! That's an interesting subject, as a competitive fencer, I have seen the same looks on people's faces as they realize that they have been beaten. I have also worn that mask more times than I like to remember. Good Job!

AHHHHH!! exelent work!! I can't find the words too, but, i like very much.
Realmente impresionante el realismo que logras, podrías decir que material usaste? escala, con que lo pintaste? etc...

Alex.

Thank you very much adm1976 and sorry for the delay in the answer, i´ve been having problems with my conexion.
In this case i´m using a clay called paperclay, that it´s very elastic. The problem is that the surface is not as soft as the other clays so after being fired in a ceramic kiln at 1200ºC, the final result is more expresive than realistic but it doesn´t matter.
I use to work in a realistic way but it´s not a obsession.
Here you are some pics of the busts while they were drying.

Thanks a lot Mah´Crub for your always interesting comments. I think all we have worn that mask, no problem if it is only temporarily.

Thank very much artist!.

Bicho, I love these. I've always had a soft spot for such visceral subjects. Maybe it's because I do better at communicating things through actions and images than with words.

My favorite face is that of the 4th one. He looks like a hooligan that just had a good night out drinking.:vodkamachine:

Thanks GoGoJojo. I think the movement is as important as the expresion. But working with busts you only have the face to transmit your ideas.
I still learning about this and the good thing is that there are millions of models all aound, in the bus, in the subway, in the pubs, etc.. to work in new faces.
ja,ja, yes the 4th one has had a very intensive night!
