Firestorm (Medium DL)

This was created for a contest on another forum. Yes, I used the dreaded lensflare, but I was thinking it was appropriate for the compostion to highlight the tiny wizard. I have many different treatments of flares and glows -- this is one of the bigger versions that was designed to create a sense of force or power.

i think it's not too shabby. it does have a bit o the filter feel to it, in many ways. if you can take that out a bit it'd help it alot. maybe instead of a lensflare use like one of them explosion rings they do in movies all the time, the big circle with the solid edge outside and flames on the inner edge kinda deal. hope you know what I'm talkin about. but i think some more volume to the clouds, a feeling of them getting sucked around like all the glowing fire energy indicates, lotsa swirls and what not would help it as well. the background is kinda stationary and it takes away from the power of the piece. diggit my input, thought i'd get in before all the mean people came in with the stop usin filters stuff

You have the same light intensity on the picture. The dark areas are very dark and the light is very burned everywhere on the picture.

You have so much bright light that the lensflare doesn't have the effect you wanted I think...

What's important in your picture ? The man and the magic wind on the right. So you don't need all the left part of the picture behind the character. By cropping it, you would add more intensity, I think
