No friggin fair, The japanese always get cooler stuff than we do! I'm stuck with the five foot cardboard thing with glue that comes off!
about the alien quadrilogy though, it seriously is worth every penny even if you already have the Alien Legacy set. The Alien Dirrectors cut which is included was very well edited to incorporate a few new scenes. the biggest of which is near the end when Ripley finds Dallas and Brett cacooned and covered with slime and maggots.
The SE of Aliens has already been out for quite some time so it's nothing that you probably haven't seen before.
The special edition of Alien 3 is a huge improvement in terms of character development and plot. However, I have no idea why they removed the shot with the queen chestburster coming out of Ripley while she was falling. I guess it doesn't matter since the theatrical version is included as well. Most importantly, you get to see what David Fincher really intended to release.
The special edition of Alien Resurrection is really nothing major. It's pretty much just dialog that's even cheesier than what they did leave in the theatrical version, like when Wren explains that Weyland-Yutanni (the "company") had been bought out by Walmart. There are a couple of interesting references to Newt though.
The bonuses alone, in my oppinion, are worth the price of the entire set. Included with each film is a special disk that's made up entirely of bonuses that are arranged in a way that could be a chronological account for the pre-production, production and post protuction of every movie. The 9'th disk has all the trailers, the old laser disk content, covers from the darkhorse comics and televised specials.
To sum up what I've said, I think it's nifty.

This is the Special Edition of Evangelion that was released in Japan. Unfortunately that link doesn't do it justice. My friend gave me link to a forum where a guy bought it. Absolutely awesome.
That Alien Quadrilogy does look cool.
