So, I've been roaming around in here for a while and figured I would finally be brave enough to post some of my work and chance criticism. I've been working on learning anatomy a little more and have been building folders packed with references for anything I decide to draw... comments are welcome and always appreciated as I am always aiming to become one step better than I was yesterday.

Nice start for your sketchbook so far! I think all you need to do is just keep practicing and it wouldn't hurt to throw a few studies from life in here either. Also, be conscious of proportions when drawing the human form. You're doing pretty good at the moment and I look forward to seeing how far your work has progressed in a year from now. ;)

Scribble King Thank you for your advice, it's much appreciated. I have actually been wanting to start on some life studies and tend to put those to the back of my mind when I come up with another strange creation to draw. I usually do try and keep proportions in mind, and also tend to stray which is where my recently practicing actually using references more is hopefully helping.

I'll get a couple of studies posted later this week probably, I'll be working on them along side a weekly environment I want to try out - sadly my background/environment skills have been meager at best ever since I started out drawing and I'd like to push my limits in that direction as well.

Until then, here are a couple more:

Here's a drawing I did a few months ago, something I wanted to use to expand into a sort of tribal/environment thing "Orb City"

This is my most recent with better use of reference, I'm happy but not ecstatic, a little time with colored pencils or maybe some pastels might do the trick :)

Ok, let's try something real... it's been a LONG time since I've done any life sketches and the first time I've tried an actual animal. Think I'll work on some perspective art next...

Last weeks CHOW, it may not the best ever, but I feel it is a new standard for my work. Now to outdo myself with this weeks and maybe I'll get some life studies in too :)
