Cintiq Alternatives?

I have two Wacom tablets and a tablet PC. I have been thinking of a cintiq but will the rise of touch screen monitors on the market, is there an alternative to the Cintiq?

Also does anyone know for sure if apple tablet will EVER come to life?

As I understand apple has no plans on creating a tablet pc for a while. They haven't found a big enough market for it. I'm sure when they eventually do it will be amazing, but until then there is the modbook (http://www.axiotron.com/index.php?id=modbook). Personally I can't wait for the windows courier (http://gizmodo.com/5370223/courier-tablet-runs-windows-7-hardware-made-by-microsoft)
