Hey there folks. I'd say this is nearly done, but before I make any finishing touches, I wanted to post here and see if anyone's got any final suggestions. The big beast giant is supposed to be standing in mist, but I have a nagging feeling that it's not as misty as it could be. It's watercolor, so obviously I'm kind of limited in what I can fix at this point, but if anything can be added or fixed with white gouache, speak!

Sorry for the somewhat crooked scan for the WIP. Oh yeah, and yes, I'm new here. Hopefully I'll have the time to stay relatively active, since this looks like a great place for some constructive critique.

know what? you could always continue work on it with watercolors, and then maybe experiment with the mist in photoshop? why not combine the traditional media with the digital? I know its scary with the traditional cause it's harder to fix things...anyways looking gud I like it

Love the looseness of the piece, but I feel that it needs abit more contrast. Especially on the foreground character, this would bring him/her forward and create more depth.

The main focus is definitely the large fox like creature, so I don't think that adding this contrast will draw away from that.

The good strong basic composition works well.

I like the image fine as it is, i think you did a very good job on everything. The image is balanced through the figure's poses; they both lean over, but that is not distracting from the image at all. it centers it. and the way you faded the mist at the monstie's feet to the foreground dude's head really drastically emphasizes the size difference. the giant looks far more ominous than it could have if you did the image differently. um... did you spend a lot of time laying the image out, or kinda wing it? im very impressed. people who get paid to do pencil layout for cover art and comics dont do that good a job... absolutely champion.

I did a few thumbnail sketches to get the composition to something that felt right. When I got something satisfying I went with that. Otherwise I don't do much pre-planning.

Thanks again for the input. ;]
