Until I Get This Right...

Hello conceptart.org my name is Nathan Massey, I am 18 and I been doing art now for a few years. I am currently at art college, and hope that next year I will be able to go to university.

I post my work here because i feel i will be able to get a lot of feedback from the work i do at college such as lifedrawings to my own personal work

For now i have only have my life drawing to show till it is light again (currently 12.45am) and all the feedback for these would be great i have only been doing it for 7 weeks with a session a week, and only being able to use 4 colours to mix, so i hope i am improving quick enough.

Well i am off to bed and i look forward to showing you more of my work in the future

In the work shown you have a real great sense of form and color. Seeing the cool and warm colors in the skin are amazing. Only suggestion I have is the black and white figure drawings add more value ranges, because there is only a highlight and a dark. Keep up the good work. Don't give up. :)

Thanks for the advice and feedback, i will take what you have said into my next life drawing session which resumes in January.

Below is a collect of sketchbook pages and final respone to a land art unit the college set in September. Compared to some peoples sketchbooks, mine is very ideas generated before i go into more fine detail and then personal respone.

Great work you have here, nice colors, but my suggestion is that you should do value studies, if you would do them in photoshop, make the pic your going to copy black and white, and then copy, and it's a good idea to compare the values in it with color, to me it's extremely helpful. Keep it up.

@ Heix33: I am a bit confused by what you mean value studies can you or anyone else explain to me in a bit more detail

Hello. You welcomed me to the forum so it doesn't seem more then fair that I post something here. I like your work, I really love the colors in the first picture. You seem to do a lot of different things and even though I don't really know anything about these things you seem to have potential for great improvement. Keep it up, I'll see ya'.
