Hi, my name's Jakob. I've been lurking around this place for a few years now and I thought it was time I made a sketchbook of my own.
I've been drawing for as long as I can remember and it's mainly what I spend my time practising, I never use reference pictures when drawing or painting I try to memorize how things look by studying pictures and then just put that on paper and see how much I really know.
Only in recent years have I started becoming interesting in digital painting and it's something I hope to improve.
So I'll be posting all my sketches and whatnot in here as often as I can and hope that you guys'll enjoy them. :assspank:

It's been a while since I posted something. . .haven't really had anything that I was able to show to you guys.
So I decided to show a stylized female face I've been sculpting on in Zbrush for the past hours or so.

Maybe I should start posting WIP's since this sketchbook is starting to collect dust. Oh well here's a new piece anyway, worked on it on and off whenever I had time really.

So I haven't posted anything in a long while, so I'll do small "collage", if you will, of my stuff in no particular order. It's just random stuff really. . .have been having a hard time with coming up with solid ideas.

I am loving your stuff. Your female figures in particular are incredibly intriguing because they all aren't super-model thin bad-ass gun-wielding chicks. What program do you use for your digitals?

Thanks a lot! I do try to stay away from the stereotypical female figures as much as possible, it's more of a challenge that way and the end result is usually more satisfying. Oh and I use Photoshop cs2 for digital painting.

nice! study a little more anatomy, it helps tons. And do a little lifedrawing, helps a lotwith the female figure

I ought to spend more time on painting the background "props" as well as colour blending. . .everything looks so rough but I guess some like it that way.

Long time no see, as usual. . .
Well this time around I have a good reason for it. SCHOOL. Hopefully I'll be pumping out more art because of this as I now will probably get some proper guidence.
So I painted to quick 1,5H portait out of my mind with one soft brush in Photoshop just to have something to go along with this post.

@dsacc: I'm going to try and update my sketchbook atleast once a week.
@ Falchion: Only have myself to blame for the anatomical quirks.
I ought to use reference pictures a lot more than I do now. xD
@ Pluscandy: Thanks!
A little quickie done at school. :painting:

Wow, your art is pretty sick. Those girls you paint, very nice. Sensual.
Minor issues with the chest area, other than that, keep at it!

Some decent stuff up in here :D
Watch those facial proportions, I think you tend to make the face too small on the head, and you also tend to flatten the nose, especially in a straight-on view.
Good luck

Some pretty cooI stuff in here. I think you have a lot of potential. As others have stated you should use more reference and draw more from life to sharpen things up a little.

I actually used a reference picture of a friend for this painting. The picture was taken at a halloween party, hence the blood.
I did my best.

Oh, I'd be plenty pleased with that one. :) Very well done. If anything, the hair over her right shoulder looks a bit washed out, and as I look at it, her shoulder itself does too. But other than that, this looks great.
I like your work! Well done!

Very nice quirky style you've got their :D
Do you actually manually adjust the angle every time you start on a new spot?!? or do you have some ultra cool setting on your computer that senses the angle of you pen?

I'm pretty sure there's a thread somewhere on this forum with some nice custom brushes : )
The ones and some other ones can be found here: http://www.polycount.com/forum/showthread.php?t=60767&page=4

Nice start, your stuff reminds me of a friends. Careful about those feet tho, they don't seem to sit in the world properly and watchout for wonky eye heights.
Keep up the zbrush practices.

Thought it was time to clear the dust off of this sketchbook.
This is some pieces since I've done since the last time I posted anything. Most of them are just random pieces done for shit's and giggles and some are practises of sorts.
Enjoy!
