hey guys, i just scanned a picture into my comp and im noticing that when i view the same picture in painter 8 the picture quality is horrible its really grainy, and im having trouble trying to fix this.
when i view the same picture using photoshop or and otherimage viewer it looks fine, any help? suggestion on how to fix this? i scanned the picture at 300 dpi if that info is relevant..pls help :confused:

Hi,
Be sure you're viewing the scanned image at 100% zoom in all programs, in order to give it a fair comparison.
In Painter, unfortunately, images often look pixelated when viewed at any other zoom percent than 100%.
If you still find it too "grainy", try scanning it again at a higher ppi number, 600 ppi for instance.

yeah, i bounce a lot between pshop and painter, pshop for scans, scaling, rotating, copying etc..as well as cleanup and some nice subtle filter tricks...and painter for painting. painter i think just has trouble because of it's natural media feel, so things are always a little choppy or pixelated, but even after you save it's actually ok, but if you're obsesive about details like i am then it freaks you out some times, just take it into pshop to clean up edges,etc.
