I like the image.

Is he a friendly monster?
Is he meant to crept me out?

He looks quite friendly to me - If thats what your after, its good, if not, you need to exagerate and enhance to image more.

I would have to say he was made to be more friendly looking, but perhaps more along the lines of Quasimodo.
