I was having a quick look around the microsoft site just to finally check out all the hubbub with the tablet PCs and I noticed that there is one spec that is missing from every product. None of them gave any indication as to what the tablet's pressure sensitivity is. I find this a little starnge since they seem to be trying to target the graphics crowd who might be concerned with things like this. Does anyone have any idea how many levels of pressure these things have?

Im not sure, but Im pretty sure VERY LITTLE.
Most will make strokes thicker depending on how hard you press, but trust me..the current tablets are nowhere close to a wacom.
Tablets are so dumb too..I mean, why would you wanna write, when typing is actually MUCH faster! And easily legible..and UNIVERSALLY accepted!
Down with tablets!

Actually, I've been waiting to check these out for some time now.. while I still have not done any work on one I have researched them a bit.

One model stands out in particular and that is the Acer Travelmate. I believe it was this model that actually has is screen interface designed by Wacom (although I've read about quite a few and I may be confusing manufacturers).

There is also this new piece of software that I have been reading about:

sketchbook (http://www.aliaswavefront.com/en/products/sketchbook/sketching.shtml)

.. they claim it was developed specifically for Tablet PCs( just downloaded a trial version.. wanna see what thats all about. I guess you can use it with tablets too)... so I have got to believe that it should be supported pretty well. I also know that Corel/Painter and Adobe were backing up the Tablet PC pretty extensively..

At this point they are a little out of my price range and the technology needs more time to develop but I'll bet I will probably pick one up once the technology ages a little bit. We will see.

EDIT - link to Wacoms site for comparisons:

No real specific Tablet PC models but it does kind of give you an idea.
