Hmm...would be nice if there was a whole section devoted to website crit.
Anyway, I am about to send out loads of requests for a placement during my 3rd year on the current course I am on. I am hoping for a job as a artist in the games industry.
Any advice or thoughts would be very much appreaciated. Thanks

Hi
I am writing this as I am looking.
1. Name your documents, that helps with searches and especially if someone runs multiple "tabs" in Opera and Netscape.
2.On that second page, put a "wash" image of your first page logo, helps with ID.
3.Overall very functional and easy to navigate, but I would like to see the thumbs stay where they are and have individual pop ups for the images, so that I can compare images next to one another and not have to constantly click "back".
Needs some tweaking, but very functional.
** I too would like to see a section on Web/Portfolio design crits and advice. And a resource of links the people can put up for "ideal" web design for artists. I for one would contribute on a regular basis since I designed mine and other artists web sites (though I do it as a favor to friends not as a job). My site right now is in its 3rd state of transition in the past 4 months as I make it more simple and easier to navigate, especially pleasing to the eye. I can't believe there are artists on the net who ahve websites that haven't been changed, let alone updated in the past year! My site is my lifeline to work and keeping clients coming in. My site is especially a "No Flash" zone, thats jsut way over used. I personaly hate gaming sites where you ahve to wait like 2-5 minutes to download thier entire site in Flash mode, nothing makes me move on quicker to someone elses site. IMO.

Thanks for the crit,
originally thumbs DID pop up but you wouldn't believe the amount of people who moaned about it. They even moan now about the ONE pop up I do have (the main one at the start)...ah well can't please everyone...

Moan? really? huh, I wonder why, I love it when sites pop up images, most nearly all the pro sites I have been to do that. Well anyway, the real complaints I have had are about how IE mangles sliced image tables. I have had to go to simpler table pages (and test them in IE now) since my "Urchin Pro" hit counter says that nearly 80% of my visiters use IE. That I definatley don't understand, I dislike IE with a passion.
