I just started playing around with digital painting, I am using oc. It was a sketch of the lotr cave troll to begin with, but my painting made it look very differnt so now I think its just "inspired" by it :).
Anyway I am thinking about getting a tablet, I have found the mouse to be really hard to get used to for painting. I have a loose style when using acrylic as you can see in the bottom painting. I was just wondering its worth me getting a tablet or if I should just stick with the mouse because there will be no differnce :/.

this is my cave troll sketch poorly painted with mouse

How about a scanner? If you can draw using pencil and reference this can be just as helpful.

Just keep practising - on computer AND paper. Technology doesn't improve your drawing technique, its just another tool for the artist.

It looks like the cave troll to me - its a good start

A tablet is always worth it, it's closer to real tools than mouse is, so you will paint faster and more comfortably.
