I finally got me some markers, and look what came out of them. Grandpa told me, you can't trust the japanese :D

I know there's not much gesture here, and the tentacles, well, sorry cthulhu, don't hate me. I bought only 2 markers first, one being a dark gray, so the shading is really dark. Smart me. Any crits/comments?

ancient kitten,i know that's your first try,so i wanna know,

Thanks carnifex.
I didn't do any linework ahead, my intention wasn't really to work with form. But you're right, there should be form present, it just doesn't work otherwise. This picture is completely flat.
I'll get more markers today, i already emptied the black one, and i have a lot of fun with them. I'll post better work when i have it. They are fun to work with, but they lead a life of their own.
Koopa Hunter D, i wanna see that cthulhu pic. He's one badass monster :)

Hehehe... um... oh yeah. mine's more of a hideous monster of doom from space, and less of a fifties guy wearin' a suit made from dried macaroni and latex... i mean, mine ain't wearin' any "vestments."
Honostly, i don't know why you guys are bitching about kitty's picture. I like it a lot, it has good line variety, good shape contrast, and better than decent value contrast. Plus, its off centered. Absorutery fooqing byootiful. ...but that's just me.

I don't know what either of you guys are talking about.
This is Extreamly 3D looking especially for only have 3 different tones.
Looks like you have a great early morning lighting and it looks more like a painting then a drawing.
Really nice work More people sould work with a limited pallet at times to creat some iteresting work.
Nice to look at yet not sure whats happening.
You would make a great painter.

Hey, thanks mates. I think the forms are hard to see, and it's good that carnifex pointed that out, so i see i'm not the only one who thinks so. Still, if you like it that way, then that's great.
There's lots of ways you can express yourself in drawings, and it works for some and it doesn't for others.
Koopa Hunter, i get a 404 on that page :(
