hey all.
i started this for the "river guardian" dsg, but didn't make the deadline, so i thought i'd throw it in here.

i started lookin' at pics of bridges, boats, barges, cranes, etc,
and thought a mishmash of swaying metal rigs & parts might
make a cool river guardian golem-thing...

FYI - ever want some boat reference, head over to http://www.boatnerd.com . it's HUGE.

Hey,

the bridge in the background looks great, so do the legs\arms of the guardian. However, the center of attention (the body of the guardian) is somewhat lacking compared to the crispness of the rest of the picture. If you would spend some more time and thought to that area, trying to get the golems massive bulk to pop from the canvas, this picture would really come to life.

Cheers and hope to see more.

I really enjoy your idea of using industrial structure as the basis of your river guardian. The charcter of the bridge, and how it is utilized in the form of the golem is really nice. Maybe a little river refected light on the front of the golem might help it from getting a little lost in the form of the bridge. I like the back lighting, it seems to make the guardian more powerful, almost ominous, and adds a little mystery to it too.
