You totally hit my weak spot. I LOVE trees.

I’m guessing that you cooked these up just for fun, but I can see a story here. Maybe the tree is a real jerk, or maybe it’s the good guy getting in the way of an evil plot… but in that second picture, I’d say that the hill and the rock have gotten together and are trying to get rid of the tree. The Rock’s all like, “Look Hill, something’s got to be done about this tree.” And the hill responds, “You’re right! Just give me some time to erode into a cliff, then you roll up under his roots, and together, we’ll get rid of that tree Once and for ALL!!!” Then together they laugh, “HAHAHAHAHAHAHA.”

Anyway… I enjoy these. They’re simple, but you’ve made the tree into a real character with its twisting trunk and mouth-like knothole. Were you thinking of taking these anywhere? I think that you could make a charming kids story using the watercolor style of the first image. Just don’t use my story… it was dumb.

Thanks for posting,

I agree with AJ here. The story development in the tree character is really interesting. The form of the tree alludes to so many human traits. The leaning, the gnarled appearance all help to create a dialogue for the viewer to wonder about.
I feel that this tree has a story to tell. Hopefully, not as sad as the "Giving Tree" By Shel Silverstein.
Thanks for giving a usually(well, mostly usually) inanimate object life.

Lol johanson,

I really like your way of seeing trees, very nice story around them and I can really see what you mean.

Nice Thinking.

Nice drawn trees, maybe add more lightning(by contrast and maybe some more detail) to make them less flat.
