Uninspired? Apathetic? What do you do?
You can't draw anything, you're completely dry.
How do YOU fill your well back up? I am not in this situation, but I am trying to give some advice to someone else who is.

I go to my other hobbies; usually writing.

See stickies above.
If I'm burnt out, it must mean I'm dead and got cremated.

You should read my white trash method for finding inspiration (http://www.conceptart.org/forums/showthread.php?p=2545692&posted=1#post2545692)! It's pretty good, not gonna lie.

When I'm burned out then I take a short break and look for new inspiration.

Take a day or two off and do nothing art related, don't even think about art. Sometimes your brain just needs a break.

What Amber says. Give yourself 1 - 2 weeks depending on the severity of the burnout and don't do any art-related stuff.
Watch porn, play video games, go outdoors for long full-day walks in quiet Nature (probably the best cure), spend time watching TV with your family etc. ;)

I like Black Spot's reply - I don't tend to "burn out" so much as I get frustrated with where I'm at - irritated with myself that I can't draw or paint the way I want. When that happens I usually get pissed off, to put it bluntly - and I get re-energized and refocused to improve. I've found theat when I'm improving or developing new skills is when I also am most excited and energized about my art. Hope it helps your friend!

In that order of priority. :P
Burn out is a bad, bad thing, a boo-boo. So, if you have a boo-boo, you rest till it`s gone. If the burn out is just of "creative" nature, as in no creative juices flowing - studies FTW!

I don't know...when you get burned out...sleep? Take a walk?
I think balance and moderation would prevent burn out. Burn out is preventable and it could be combination of body/mind fatigue...unless you have a crazy deadline. Now artist block...that's a different story. That's when you have nothing visually to say at the time, regardless how much will or motivation you have.
