I am almost finished with this project for metal album cover, and am looking for some C&C, please dont be shy. I might add a severed head, maybe beatup the axe a little more. Thanks in advance..

It is a nice peice so far, but it doesnt look finished to me yet... Seems like some highlights on the axe and the helmet would help, even though it is night, the metal would still be reflecting light from the moon and things around them. Keep at it.

I personally feel that the round brush marks in the background sky and foreground snow could have been smoothened out more. The inconsistent round hard edges caused the brush is very distracting. You probably could have chosen a different brush for that matter. The edges of the character could use some tightening up like his arms and the axe handle which is also beginning to look a little crooked. Its already a very cool image, very nice cool atmosphere, just needs some touchups that’s all.

These are the criticisms I was looking for, I will get back to the grindstone, finish it up and repost.
I was wondering about the brushes you guys are using. Do you mostly use the default Photoshop ones, or is there a place you are downloading them from. I am definately limited by my current collection. Right now I have the Nagel brushset 2, and some round ones I made. Any info would be greatly appreciated.

I suggest making your axe blade a bit round and not a bright unless you want to make it the center of attention.
