hey,
i need a new, bigger monitor, my eyes are starting to cross trying to paint on this 17" monitor i have.
im lookin to get at least a 21" monitor around $500
now i know you can find a bunch around that price or lower, but i want to know if there any that stand out for quality of color etc. IE: what brand should i get

thanks!

Try here; http://www.merkortech.com/

All the monitors at the company I work for are from here; they work great. I purchased my own as a 2nd monitor several months ago and it's doing great. Just read up the FAQ on the site before you order.

After lots of research for a monitor for myself last year I ended up getting a Mitsubishi 22" 2060SB Flat CRT monitor. LOTS of settings and plugs, professional monitor, excellent overall. We have one at work that I am typing on right now as well. Only downside is since its CRT its big and heavy (~80lbs) but if you got the room its great.

The guy at work also likes viewsonic monitors but I havent tried one so I couldnt tell u firsthand how good they are.

I know my old Sony Trinitron is good but its 17". I heard there were a few issues with the 21" Trinitrons. Even Dell makes reasonable monitors and even a 21" flatpanel as well.
