No snow here yet. Lots of rain though, and hailstones last week.

It started to snow last week over here, in the capital. It doesn't go for the entire country, which is often drowning in snow, but snow comes quite late for Reykjavík. It starts a bit in November or December, but it's really not until January when it becomes firmly grounded! I have to add that it's a somewhat recent thing, when I was a toddler some 10-15 years ago it came much sooner and was heavier. Climate changes or something?
I do love the snow, though :D It's cozy!

We got a snowstorm on Friday/Saturday. It's always funny because bus schedules go completely random and there's always some idiot who shows up at the bus stop completely underdressed and then asks people when the bus is going to show up. Well kid, there's five inches of snow on the road. Go home and get a hat, because you might have to walk to wherever you're going.
Also ended up having to drive later and managed to get stuck in the snow within a block of our house. Good times!

We had snow in October. Briefly. Since then it has been remarkably stably the same: around +5 degrees Celsius, little to no wind, very humid and foggy but yet never quite raining (although the ground is always wet) The worst kind of weather imo.

It hasn't snowed for me for years, but when it does, its usually the biggest dump of snow ever... Like 1,000,000 people ran around the night before spraying whipped cream everywhere non-stop.

Iowa. It snowed. And is expected to snow a lot more tonight, a lot more. And I am pissed.
Because I just very, very recently learned how to drive the manual transmission on my car. And there are hills. You wouldn't expect hills to be a problem in Iowa, but it doesn't take mountainous hills to annoy the living piss out of me.
I need to find a better way to work.
I love snow. I really enjoy snow, the look of it, the feel of it, the mood it gives everything. But as with most things in this world, people ruin it with their streets and their cars and their...computers...and...digital...
Shit.

ryukin, here.
It hasn't snowed in my little corner of the Pacific Northwest, YET. :x
But when it comes, scary times, scary times indeed. Not because of the snow, though it was ridiculous last year, but because my family hates the snow. Me, I love winter and everything that comes with it (except maybe sesonal depression) but maybe that's because I've neglected to get my driver's license yet. When I eventually learn, I will curse the snow with them.
But for now, yeah snow! :D

Hooray!! Snow!! Got home from school today and found out that the lock on my front door had frozen, before spending about 10 mins desperately trying to make it unfreeze before I gave up and went to my friends house.
But during that time my street had gone from no snow at all to a layer about an inch or two deep and I had been too busy to notice. I heard its supposed to be very snowy over the weekend. Hopefully there will be lots in Glenshee or Cairngorms

We get virtually no snow any more. I grew up in a little village on the Yorkshire moors and it was common for the snow to be 2 or 3 feet+ with drifts of 10 - 20 feet, and the plows used to pile the snow 12ft high at the sides of the roads. Snow covered the ground for at least 10 weeks of the year. Now it's headline news when there's a few inches, like a national emergency or something. The very same place I lived was on the news last night - 16cm. 16 cm!? That's frost, not snow.

Just drought is all you have to worry about when living in Vegas. So nothing, at all, that is built there was built for natural disasters or extreme weather aside from heat. Roads are cheaply made, no lines just reflectors mostly on the roads, and grated high ways. Mix in a huge freak of nature where all of the valley is covered in 4 inches of snow. You got bumper cars.
Sadly the day it was best, was when I had to work. So I could only take pictures with a cell on my way there. Enjoy?
I wish I could've got some on the strip.

Well, I woke up yesterday to see glorious snow all around! Finally it caught up with us. Only fair, with the rest of the country having heaps of it (c.80-90 cm on the north coast). If only I still had an overall, I'd start making snow angels :D Or go to the tiny beach by the city that has this cozy hot tub! These people were actually swimming in the ice cold Atlantic. Sea swimming has become really popular lately...I'm not sure if it's for me :O

I'm... getting a bit tired of snow already. We just had a warm period for a week with a few degrees over so some of it melted and there was this slosh all over the place and now it froze again so it's hella slippery everywhere. Because of this + a lot of snow it takes me about twice as long to get around as it would normally. I also have to clean the parking lot almost every day = not fun.
Looks like I've got some work to do. Although I should wait till it stops snowing.
