The execution is allright, but, honestly, its pretty boring.
There is nothing going on, and its very basic as a concept.
You might want to elaborate on it.

you might want to crop it to a close headshot, more 'in your face' kinda look, with the angle way out he looks stiff..

The face is VERY interesting, though personally i think the composition as a whole would benefit if the face were not in the center... just my humble opinion. Other than that, great work

Yeah I like the face, but putting your point of interest directly in the center of the peice is generally a bad idea. If you split the paper into thirds with lines vertically and horizantially the 4 intersections are good spots to put your focal point. Also it might be cool if only one of his eyes was light and the other in shadow? Nice gritty style.
