I did this one yesterday and posted it at Sijun too. Based on a loose sketch i did. The two guys were drawn separate when i drew them more accurate
and the background were composited in later. I decided to go for a pretty Simple look. with one layer for a gradient, 1 with colors and another with shadows. Took about 2 hours all in all. I'm pretty happy with the expressions in their faces.

What do you think?

i love the piece but i feel the art plant poster is distracting... i also think you could play with the design of the poster to show how you want the movement of the piece to play.

Thanks for the reply, guys!
I totally agree with the sign. I will draw it with pencils instead and past it in. That way it will look better. I will also tone down the colours.

now that's smart advertising :)

rather unusual way of making a pic, but seems to work quite good. what does it say on the left guy's folder?

An interesting piece, although i do have a few complaints.
The colors seem a bit overly bleak.
As donschi already mentioned fat guy's left leg is too long.
Also, conceptually, i'm not sure why the guy on the left wears
futuristic/punk-lloking jacket with a name tag on it, while the other guy is sleeping using his shoulder as a support.
The situation and the poses point to a couple of bums, although its obvious from the picture that at least one of them isn't. Could you explain this?

There arent actually anything written. Just some random
symbols..

Yutani: The intention was to give it a bleached washed away look.I thought of the subway station in Jacobs ladder (the movie)when he gets stuck down at the tube station.
I like it that way, but i will follow the advice on drawing the artplant logo instead and just tone down the colors a little.

Yeah, i see the leg being too long. Moving the shoe up will solve the problem i think.

Conceptually? God knows. I just improvised. Maybe it' some weird futuristic work clothes..Dunno. I think it's cool to do a picture with some things in it that looks kinda weirdand out of place. Like Moebius often did. I think it adds some kind of
charm to it.

The guy on the right is not necessary a bum. Might be, but could also be a teacher, proffessor or whatever. Did'nt really matter to me. Just the typical falls- asleep- and- rests- on- your- shoulder-
guy;).

Thanks for the replies guys!

I dig it. The dude on the left looks like Lance Armstrong. Ditto on the suggestions to work on the poster a little and I think the perspective/foreshortening on Sleepy's left foot is wrong.

Keep up the good work!

i actually thought the "art plant" poster was to act as a title or something of the sort
