Nice and clean rendering :) Like you said, you need darker values. And with the light majorly coming from behind somewhat, makes the fronts darkness really similar to the shadow on the floor. It'll make the image look more realistic in terms of shading, but will miss out on a lot of the nice details you put in your armour. So I suggest either change your light source or add in a secondary light.
Personally if I draw a character with the light shining from behind, I add a secondary light coming from the front. That way I can show some detail a bit more.
Or add some panel lights on the characters armour. It'll make some light but not strong enough to shine on everything. But will shine on details that I would like people to see, like something major in the characters design.
Anyway I hope you dont mind me drawing over your image. But heres to show what the light source you have should do to the characters shading:

So as you can see, youll miss out on nice details with the light coming from behind. But you can play with lights as much as you want. I've added a secondary light for you, coming from the front and made it blue. Now you can see some of the details on your armour, plus adding another colour to your painting:

Last is the the panel lights. My favourite :) But it helps when you have really dark shadows on the front and want to make it interesting:

Hope I helped! Good luck

Great stuff Mohzart.
DesignNoob, great idea, process, and finish. But I still don't know what his armor is made out of. Add some texture so we know if its metal, hard plastic, wooden, etc.
And remember; Light doesn't suddenly end on a form, it transitions into the darker areas. Don't forget fundamentals. Such as the ball shading exercise.
All in all, great design. Just work on the polish.
