Was sitting around watching Trek, waiting for the ephedrine to kick in before a workout and had a sudden flash:

I think I'm on to something with it, so I'll call it a WIP. Any ideas to add to it? I'd like to finish it tonight.

Wan't to give this one a twist? :)
THe woman looks like she's in complete controll of her new puppet. Even has her hand over his skull to controll his mind. Might be worth to explore.

Btw whats ephedrine?

He looks very short and stocky or his head is too big. I think a slightly smaller head would look better.

Do some more work on the lower area, not sure which lines are which, can I see part of the womans hips?

The hand at the front appears smaller than the back hand (which is drawn quite nicely by the way).

I referenced me... I'm not short, but I am stocky and I have a big head. So oddly enough the answer is... yes. You nailed it Banimator.

Anyway, the whole control thing was what I was going for. The left hand is small right now because at the time I was debating to go higher or lower to show his chest or not. Personally, I hate covering certian lines on people; the middle of the tricep, the chest, etc.

I did this today on a lunch break; keep in mind its not nearly final though.

1) Rework arm and add faint tricep detail.
2) Add a very few veins.
3) Maybe remove glove.
4) Figure out a background (could use a suggestion for this
since I actually *like* plain backgrounds and this would end
up with just a black one).
5) Detail all the hard lines like on the top of the chest,
neck, hand, hair etc.

I've got about 45 minutes into it.

Nice shading on the figure, but the pants area is just too flat. Even though its not an important area (composition wise), the flat grey is merging onto his arm and abs and flatting these areas slightly. Either add some darker shadows and/or a couple of small areas of highlight.

The pencil work has improved the clarity of the picture and created (in most areas) good volume.

may i suggest making the womans hand go around his head, so you see her fingers? that would look cool.other than that it looks great. i love it!

I'm not near done with it. I just set it aside and started a few other things :\. I have no attention span sometimes. Other times I can spend hours on one thing.

The plan is this:

Heavy shading from the ground up with a dark background. I didn't put any real definition in his arms because... well... I didn't want him to be ripped, just big. I plan on reworking the shading to accommodate that; probably tonight.

Yeah it appears we are in the same town : ) You go to SCAD?

Samhain is great I caught them on the reunion tour a couple years back. Danzigs coolest band.

I thought about going to SCAD... the level of freaks turned me off though.

Plus I have alot of.... acquaintances (not reaelly friends, just buds) that go and, for the most part, they're doing graphic design stuff. They tell me that they're learning stuff they could've on their own, but to have Scad on a resume is golden. In school I got offered a SS there, but I didn't want to spend my late teens and early 20's in a classroom.

As for Samhain, I'm on a vote for the Misfits as my favorite of his bands ('77-'82).

Have yet to get to a Danzig concert.
