Hi my name is Samuel Lee (call me Sung, or Samsung, whatever you like to call me by :D) and I'm 19(2009).

I'm new here and I haven't really taken any art classes due to past experiences with an art teacher, but I'm over that now. I don't have experiences in art in general and will be highly appreciated if you point out my mistakes, and help me out by giving me tips and advices.

I taught myself how to use PS, and never really got any tips on how to improve on my works because I don't really live in an art-friendly environment or have networking (REALLY need this...and a art job. >.<), so I'm trying to get them both.

If anyone can be like a mentor/teacher to me, I would be very happy. Also if there's anyone who is interested and working together on a design (Online or in person) I'll be very happy to cooperate. :lifedrawing:

Sorry for the LONG intro. Now for my drawings (PS: I'm editing the first and second picture):

Your work is really good, what happeend with this teacher? it must have bin something bad to put you off like that if you can draw like this.

so, basically, im definatly not good enuf to either teach or mentor you, but we can be friends if u want? :)

if you really want to improve, teaching yourself is probly one of the best ways to do it. and study anatomy too, it'll help lots.

il come visit some time. good luck.

My teacher stole my artwork and never gave it back to me, so I kinda quit participating in art classes back in elementary lol. I went back to art class though, around senior year of highschool...yeah it kinda really effected me, along with other issues that happened; kinda like when everything in your life goes completely wrong when you're a little kid lol.

Yeah sure, definitely, lets be friends! :D

Yeah I do need to study anatomy and I completely agree with you 100% about the best way to improve is by teaching yourself! lol

I've taken out all of the PS filters I've done and it's currently in progress! This is how it looks so far, and I think it looks ALOT better! (PS: took the ship off to focus on the armor):

looking good you really did a good job with that metallic reflective texture on the armor/spacesuit, the world in the background seem too saturated to be keeps drawing my eye away from the character maybe darken the background a little, still good though

I say that you are off to a great start, but it wouldn't hurt to study anatomy, perspective, composition etc. On the other hand, you have excellent design sense.

Thank you very much, I'm actually redoing this piece from scratch/from a different angle because I just thought a really good idea of it, due to the advices from everyone! :D

I will indeed study them, it's essential that I do; especially since I'm new to coloring. I just need to transfer to an art college/university, and then I'll be able to study art more!! :D
