ok, these are prepatory sketches for a 3D model. I know my rendering techniques are rough, and that I need alot more practice. The scans are pretty crappy too, heheh.
What im looking for is critique on the design. Im of the less is more opinion, and I dont want to cover him in clothes or armor to make him interesting. I am going for a naturalistic creature, that is humanoid, and talks, but does not participate in society, but only lives in the forest and has his 3 faerie companions. Im thinking about adding a leather/fur loincloth/briefs, as well as leather pouches for the faeries to sleep in. Im also thinking about an instrument of some sorts made out of a horn.
I would like to have him remain streamlined, but still be interesting. most of the comments ive gotten so far, is to make him have more clothes, or armor to break up the silhouette. But i think a good design should be able to look good without gobs of detail. but im guessing I do not have this yet since people are not satisfied with the current look.
Open to any suggestions! thanks ahead of time
