To me, this is a sign of having zero respect twords the artists. Some people think artwork just grows on trees. Their usual excuses of so called low budget is getting old as the sun.

Guys, a little discussion on the rates might be valuable, but there's no need to have several posts just trashing the guy. Time after time, we ask for these small press guys to at least come up with something to offer the artists. While his prices aren't anywhere near professional rates, he is at least offering something. Maybe it's below what you are interested in, but it shows an effort above what many offer.

Just keep that in mind. Discuss the rates if you like, but stay respectful, please.

I haven't found a good one yet...

If it said something like "realistic eye ratio and detailed noses and mouths, please" then I think it would be more reasonable.

I worked for these prices before, don't be so harsh. What if he finds an artist and the artist really likes the idea, and just wants to do it in their spare time? What if they're both likeminded and they both get along and want to see the project finished? Sheesh...

Not everyone is a professional, maybe he wants a beginning artist.

Gotta start somewhere... and it's getting your stuff Out There too.

Well we went with these rates because that is what we can afford... I understand you guys need to eat but so do we.

The time on our projects is not high demand push it out in 30 days... We look for artists that are loyal and give us their all. Our project time lines are generally quarterly.
