Last week my 70 year old mother lost her much loved Airedale unexpectedly. She is devestated. My sister and I would like to give her a portrait, (medium is not set in stone) of her and the dog. I was thinking something perhaps set in a different era - again, not committed to anyone thing although mom is a big historical romance buff. I want the drawing - painting to convey a sense of timelessness - does that make sense? Would like to frame this in mom's very formal house (think lots of ornate gold gilded frames) Her colors are all jewel tones, vibrant purples, mauves, raspberry and blues. Mom is a beautiful woman at 70, I have a variety of pictures through the years of her and the dog for the right artist to work with. I will leave much of the decision-making to the artist as I freely admit to no artistic skill whatsoever! Do you have any ideas? I'd love to hear them. Please give me your ideas along with a fixed price for the work.
