Well, you can tell Nick Bradshaw that he did an excellent job on the pencils and I love the cell shading style you chose for the colors. Great job on the water too...

this is fun!! love teh drawing and paintover

two things

1---the context of teh dogs running right by the baby and man seems a little weird. im thinking " how the hell are they missing them"? not a big deal..but a small red flag

2-the BG/horizon is kinda weird cus it looks like the river just goes into teh distance on straight land--but at that scale we would have to be up on an elevated plateau--like theres a waterfall right beyiond teh furthest horse--do you know what i mean?

anyhoo--kickass pic

Beautiful style and execution. The composition is very powerful and dramatic, however, while I don't necessarily agree that the dogs couldn't miss them, there is one slight problem. All of the other horsement and soldiers have a definit direction and motion to them, and as a mass, they all look to be at full speed in pursuit of someone (I assume the child and person holding the child). All except the soldier with the dogs, who is leaning back, pullling the dogs back.

The angles and poses of the dogs and soldier holding them help emphasize the movement, which is what makes it work, but cognatively, the pose doesn't fit with the rest of the soldiers.

Great piece.

in many ways this is an excellent image. There's tons of stuff happening at once and the color job really pulls together a whole lot of shapes into a real space. What I think you need to do to bring it to the next level is make the animals different colors. All of the horses and dogs are the same hue and value; besides being unrealistic, it makes it very hard to discern the forms in the middle of the scene.

very ambitious illustration and I am impressed nonetheless.

This would catch my attention. The only thing I noticed it the right dog's right foot looks like its a stub going into the water.

wow man... Very impressive. I would agree with bwkeough on the color of the animals being too similar, but other than that, this image has thoroughly put my humble attempts at drawing to shame
