Goodness, gracious. I just made an earlier post in reference to the Joys of -said game.

And so, I never thought I'd so much enjoy playing video-games again until I got the chance to get on this one. I congratulate the video-game industry for their hard work, effort, and best achievements!

I can't even DREAM about where they'll take things next!-

I learned about the dedicated server thing before i bought it but they said they might add a dedicated server option later.:lounge:

They have to !!!

I hope this game fails so it doesn't give the industry as a whole ideas about how to treat PC gamers.

I don't even care about the stupid server issue and i thought the game was overhyped. It's getting 95s on metacritic and gamerankings which implies it's setting the bar. I don't really see where it is, maybe the first of the series but this is more of the same with new (really nice looking) graphics.
It's a different style of gameplay, i know, but in my honest opinion Team Fortress 2 seems a lot better thought out and executed MW2 multiplayer. Not to say that im not playing MW2 multiplayer and enjoying myself, but i just think it doesn't live up to all the props, hype, or respect that people are giving it. It's just another pretty FPS with achievements and a 5 hour single player campaign.

Moriarte: Ignoring IW.net, is the PC version a direct port of the console version?

Mackey-IW: No, PC has custom stuff like mouse control, text chat in game, and graphics settings.

What the hell happned? Seriously? Was there an IQ drain at IW?

Either way, i'm not buying this game until there are ded servers.

This game is simply not intended for PC users.

I thought the single player campaign was fairly weak compared to COD4 MW. Obviously intended for console gamers...at certain points it felt like playing Space Invaders - predictable waves of enemies that all come from the same direction in a steady, syrupy flow.

All the technical flaws regarding the installation and multiplayer processes have been well documented on ze webz. It's all true.

My friend bought it. I've played a few matches. Not worth all of the hype it was getting, but it wasn't bad.

Gotta' buy it for my brother's birthday, soon... I don't think I'd dish out $70 for it otherwise, though.

I havent had a chance to try the single player yet, but I'm enjoying the multiplayer. Was it overhyped? yeah probably. Are there nerd complaints? Yes. Is it stopping me from enjoying murdering others? No. I'm surprised Davi hasnt chimed in on this thread, I swear he is on every time I turn on my 360.

I've been pretty obsessed with MW2 for the past two weeks and I have some things to say! :D

Firstly, I think it's pretty sheisty of Activision to axe the dedicated servers for PC. This is obviously a move made to force the PC audience to pay for DLC... which I can understand, since DLC costs a lot to make, but this is clearly against the cultural norm for PC games. I'm sure they were expecting ruffled feathers from a vocal minority. In the end, they made $550 million on day one, so expect other publishers with hot titles to follow suit :(

Second: I love the multiplayer in this game. I also love the commonly held misconception that run n' gun is dead in MW2. I get my ninja on and get 25+ kills and less than 10 deaths a match... not because I'm particularly good, but because everyone is expecting you to be hunkered down with your SCARH, not streaking up behind them with a silenced SMG. Also, the Rafika kicks serious ass. Its 3-round burst, good damage and high accuracy make it an ideal sidearm, silenced or otherwise.

Want to see something funny? Equip a riot shield and throwing knife. When you come upon an enemy with your shield up, crouch. At this point your foe should be trying to close the gap between you for the stab...simply hold the bumper, line up the sight for your throwing knife and let fly when they get close-ish. They never see it coming.

Ok, nerd rant over.

The Graphics are pretty much the same Artzealot....They've just spruced them upabit. It's the same engine theyve been using since COD 2..albiet enhanced. The game was over hyped.....Single player campaign made no sense whatsoever....reminded me of an Uwe Bullshit movie.

Multiplayer is horrible.....(PC gamer)

Only good thing about the game are the animations and voice acting.

The graphics have never been that spectacular to me. Everything is so busy and full of texture that its hard to distinguish player from background, though maybe that's the point.

Multiplayer is unbalanced as usual. Spamming grenades or using the noob tube usually gets good results. Thanks to the map design trying to reflect the real world instead of being intelligently designed for multiplayer means plenty of campers. Weapons are either too powerful or not powerful enough. Most of the people who play multiplayer are just grinding out achievements and ranks.

I'm going to stick with TF2 for well designed multiplayer FPS.

I can totally understand not finding the MP in MW2 satisfying on PC. This is game is obviously tuned for a console. It's also true that not all kits/weapons/perks are viable if you are looking to be successful.

SMGs are worthless unless you're building a stab class (which is one of my favorite ways to play, actually), and of the ARs, you'd be hard pressed to find a reason to use anything but the SCAR (grain of salt: I'm in the mid forties, so I haven't really played with the ACR, F2000 or AK yet). I'm not a huge sniper, but I'm also baffled as to why you'd use anything but the 50 cal... it seems like it shoots as fast as you can pull the trigger and I see people rapid-fire no-scoping all the time with it.

In the end, all the myriad weapons and option really boil down to three viable classes: AR/general assualt, silenced/ninja and sniper.
