Miasma Online
Brief description:
Miasma Online is a fantasy genre Flash-based MMORPG. The background story and core architecture have been in development for years. We are currently working towards Alpha, which we hope to have ready to be tested around the new year.
Target aim:
Miasma Online is a free-to-play, browser based game (no client download required). The game will be released on multiple platforms to maximize our visibility, including social gaming platforms and mobile devices. Revenue will be generated from ads and a micro-transaction economy.
Compensation:
We do not expect anyone to work for free (except the four of us, of course!), so we can work out some sort of compensation. Anything we pay before the game goes into Alpha will be coming out of our pockets, so a majority of the compensation will be paid on the back end in the form of royalties (sharing a percentage of profits, up to X amount of dollars). We are willing and able to provide compensation monthly, in addition to other forms of back end compensation. We will put the mutually agreed upon terms of our arrangement in writing, we already have a template in place from hiring a handful of people in the same fashion.
This would be a contract for our push towards Alpha and possibly beyond, most likely for 10 hours a week or less. But if we can develop a good working relationship, we would be interested in inviting this person to stay on as an animator going forward. Obviously, things would be negotiated at that time, so we can cross that bridge when we get there.
Technology:
Our project is being developed in Flash CS4 using ActionScript 3.0. Our database servers are MS-SQL with a PHP-based interface for communication.
Talent needed:
We are looking to bring on a 2D/cell animator to help our existing artist with the Player Characters and Non-Player Characters. Our game uses a 2D isometric view. A good working knowledge of basic body movement is desired.

Chief Technology Officer: Douglas Andrew Torrey
We also currently have three artists working with us to provide the artwork for our game and are in the process of bringing on a few more people to speed up the overall progress.
