The idea of the nightly sketches is to get an evolutionary process going, in the sense that different people quote and develop each others ideas and drawing further (hence the cc-licensing).
At the moment this is technically implemented by posting a scribble page to a blog (or flicker or <your favourite webspace here>), and post a twitter-message with the url to the image and the tag #nightlysketch, like these:
