Here is a little of my Cintiq Clothed Figure stuff. The first image is the two best from weeks 1-4, we are now into week 9. The second image is from last week, was in the halloween spirit. The times are noted at the bottom of each image.

Here is some of what i do thats not for school. I did these back in august before this semester started. I came up with these characters a way long time ago, i like to go back roughly every year and redesign them. Initially they were designed for an rpg project i was collaborating with some friends on in highschool. As of now they just serve as my fantasy character outlet. Ill be getting more of my other stuff up sooner or later.

You got a real eye for design. Those characters look really interesting. Although I can't help but think Final Fantasy as well.

Nice studies as well!

I'll be watchin'.

Good to see you on here man! The proportions on your figures need some work. I also think you over-emphasize a lot with line in areas where you could just suggest the form, so try to work on subtlety. I like how your char lineup turned out, but i think you could push overall shape variety a little more with them. All of them have the same kind of swoopy, spiky, form language. That would be fine if they all came from the same background, but i know a lot of the story so i can be a little more picky ;P Anyway, good stuff, keep it coming.

@Fishspawn-Im not sure what you mean by "work on my proportions in my figures", could you be more specific Wes? All of these have been looked at by my teachers, they say i have an above average understanding of proportion. As with the line heavy focus, its part of what we have to do in my intermediate figure class. My teacher has been having us focus very strongly on developing our line ability, we just started shading and we are 7 weeks in. He doesnt want us to "paint" with charcoal, he wants us to draw with line. Ill be getting into shading more again next week.

Here are some of perspective homework assignments from over the summer. I still want to color that 2 point lineart.

Here are a few things ive done in the past two months or so that i kinda like. Just to give you guys an idea of the kind of stuff you might expect down the line. I dont really do fanart that often, but the pokemon and the rikku ones i had a lot of fun with, so i figured i may as well show them. The others are original designs.

These were character concepts for a Yoshitaka Amano homage i was planning but never finished.http://i267.photobucket.com/albums/ii308/spektre5/AmanoConceptscopyNG.jpg

Loving the line work. In some of the perspective drawings, it looks like some of the characters don't seem like they're standing on the ground. Like they've pasted on. Like in the first one, he doesn't really feel like he's standing on the ground as much as he's just there. In the second one on the right hand side with the people on the balcony, it also has that issue as well. It seems it got better as you went along though, but just thought I'd point it out just in case.

Love the fanart pieces. I actually have a model of Rikku, heh.

Any advice you can give me on your steady line art?

Specifically there are a lot of hands and feet that look a little too big or too small. There are also several faces with strange distances between the features. Some of it may be a strange placement of the core shadow. As far as the lines go, I wasn't suggesting not to use them, but to omit them in certain areas for a more graceful effect. These are both areas I struggle with a lot myself, so I often notice them in other peoples' art as well.

Here is a glimpse at a couple projects for my Digital Illustrative Imaging class. We had to come up with an environment setting idea and do a couple of quick color comps. I came up with a town made of dirigibles linked together with walkways and ropes, only yesterday however i was told that there is something similar in guild wars 2, no such thing as an original idea i guess. The next one is for our current assignment, we have to make a papercraft figure based on the given template, so i chose to make one of an older original character i have, ive included reference for what he looks like.

I like the different styles you've got going. The traditional stuff shows your skills nicely and your rather comicky stuff builds on that strength and really looks great as well.

Cheers

Im supposed to do 6 character silhouettes for a character design for homework that have to fit into my dirigible city concept. Here are 30 silhouettes of my proposed 50. Doing some in painter and some in PS. Hopefully by 50 ill hit some real cool ideas. It would be great if you guys could list out your top ten so i might expand upon the concept.

Here is an update from this guy(me). The swamp beast thing is part of an assignment for school. Of those 30 silhouettes i uploaded, the classed picked one that i had to render out. We needed two different versions. The green one is the one i initially had in mind, the second one floats/flies via gassy mushrooms. The other sketches were me playing around with my new and amazing pencil brush. Still getting the hang of it, but its gonna prove very beneficial to my arts. Also, guess which game i just got a platinum trophy for~
