i was going for a sort of flat look but not quite like a cartoon shadeing. im debateing on putting something in the background like bamboo stalks or somthing. any coments?

hey zeb i noticed that you have never posted any artwork on these forums and a lot of your posts are unconstructive
criticism. im curious as to what sort of background you have in art. and if you plan on shareing your work with us? im sure you would like us to crit your work with the same sort of 'zesty blue cheeze flipflop style, coments that you seem to plop out at will. and if i put a payphone in the background i will be sure to put you in it. true to life.......

Now, I didn't technically say anything bad about anyones work on here. But if you look at the redhead you drew it does resemble Carrot Top, atleast in some minor way.

So, ignore the whole pay phone thing, it was merely meant as a joke. On the other hand, I still don't see that particular redhead in an area that would have bamboo, unless of course it was a zoo or something.

Besides I never really was any good at crits in class. Maybe that's why I'm not an Art Major anymore?!

Zeb, stop trying to justify your actions by saying "Now, I didn't technically". And, WTF does technically mean to you? Does it mean, "i mean't this, but I'll say it mean't something else"? If your not good at critism then stop giving them. Your not being constructive. BTW you said that your not a art major because your bad at crits, well avoid being a comedian because your jokes arn't funny.

ok john i take it back, i guess you have offended some people here.

im not gonna sit here and defend you though, you did skeeze on the guys drawing after all. (though, in a completely incidental way, you have to admit plastic that the character in question does bare a semblence).

but, and this is a grand but, i'd say that maybe you guys overreacted a bit. so what if he said you should draw some payphones, i thought it was kind of funny. no comment was made on your line quality, palette choice, or technique, just an observation and a joke followed by an apology.

course, this isnt my fight and im the last person to be a mediator. maybe i just think you should practice a little more tact zeb. yea, i'd say you should probly definitly do that. and maybe also plastic and anarchy, you guys should lighten up a bit ? if we cant laugh at ourselves, who can we laugh at ?

all of this being said, i kind of like the drawing. specially the exageration in the eyes and cheek bones. a background would help it, and while i dont know how appropriate bamboo would be, it's definitly an interesting choice.

One last thing, could you please explain what I would have in common with a pay phone? Why putting me in with a pay phone would be "true to life"?

hears the problem. when you make a joke in life or on the net you are ether laughing at someone or you are laughing with them. now if you dont know someone and you walk up to them and you say something like 'damn..... those are some ugly ass shoes bro hehehehe'. your making a joke about them and your looking for shit. ie laughing at them. you know that i know that everybody knows that. and zeb your not naive, you know that. if your to young to know that or for what ever reason you havent thought about it then learn. it is a lesson that will serve you well in life and on these forums.

now that we have established that you made a joke about me not with me whats the point? is that what you come to these forums for? is that the point for these forums? i hesitate to speak for others but im guessing that all the kick ass talent in this forum and the artists who put it here to begin with are not here to make fun of each other and talk smack and generally make this forum a scum pond. this is a place of inspiration and motivation. a place to have fun and make jokes with people not about them. forums go to shit if you dont have standards. seen it happen and its sad. so thats that.

why? cuz you have to agree with what has been said and you know the comment was lame. no one is mad at you, im certainly not.

for every action there is an equal or greater reaction. its true in physics and forums.

why are you in the pay phone cuz thats a jab at you. see we are playing catch with a rotten tomato o-joy. you dont like to play catch with a rotten tomato then dont pick one up in the first place. look back at all you r posts i did. how many tomatoes have you thrown? is there any constructive words for people? things to think about. just chill and have fun be constructive and im sure you wont end up in a pay phone ever again.
