Nice rendering Marc-pierre, but he doesn't look very sad. The expression actually looks very neutral. Also, having him on just a flat gray background really detracts from him. There should be something behind him! Decent lightin though except for that odd light on the back of his backpack. It should be hitting parts of his back and canteen too.

Sincerely,
Chris

16 hours?! I'm sorry but...where did you put it all?

in the future, if you spent less time on the stitching in his backpack and more time on creating a context (in this case, a background) for your figures they may carry more emotional impact. You have a lot of patience, so let that work for you.

The most deatal in a picture should be in the face and body stucture. just think of the back pack extra features and you don't need to spend a lot of time on them. they don't need alot of deatal, because there not the focus point of the pic. I agree with Isric that you probley cut your time in half with about the same resalts or even better.

Thx 4 the c&c first!:chug:

jarvis: the face needs to be overdone i guess - it's as well quite off the ref i ll fix it sometime as i ll add a scene to this one - but for the moment i can't see him no more :D
concerning the backpack - the light got too strong its supposed to be just diffuse light which comes outta the backpack's form.

legacy: i ll scan the reference and post it - got no scanner at home so i need to do this at work.

isric: u are right, but as this is the first time i did such a work there was a lot of trying out and overpainting stuff. hopefully i ll get faster in the future

shadowkiller: yes ill rework the face - i guess if i ll give it more expression, it'll get more into focus.

i guess if i ll give it more expression, it'll get more into focus.

I think if you add a bit more hi9ghlights to the face, it would stand out as more of a focus on this piece.

I also wanted to say that I think this piece is pretty nice. I like the details you put into the helmet....

Damn good job man.

The progression was great.

I am the founder of a game called Pax Germania and we are looking for a guy who would be interested in doing art work like that from original pencil sketches.

The mod is about ww2 never ending and i think it would fit right up your alley.

email me at sissy_j55@hotmail.com if your interested.

Nice job again!!!!

I love the picture. You have incredible patience, and it would've taken me a couple weeks to do all that work. I really enjoy it. I have to agree on one aspect, though, and that he doesn't have that sad of face. It's more of a solemn expression.
