My name is Avel! I live outside of Houston, TX with my programmer husband at the moment (I'm originally from ontario, canada). When I was a teenager I had private art lessons with an amazing teacher who'd worked on movies and such. He taught me how to paint and sketch scenery among many other things. Right now I can't get a job or go to school because of my immigrant status, so I'm trying to learn as much as I can through books/cool people on the internet.

I used to draw furry art and realistic wildlife portraits almost exclusively, so I've missed out on alot of the basics. I'm trying to learn human anatomy at the moment. I have no problem drawing "boring" things or reviewing the basics as many times as needed.

Any criticism will be very appreciated! :D

Been doing some 90 second sketches the past few days. I have never done them before but I really like them. It feels like I'm being forced to learn the overall form quickly rather than slowly obsessing over every detail like I am used to.

The two at the top were done today, the others were all done throughout the week.

I see you starting your sketch book, great! Now just try to update as much as possible, and show us everything, and i mean everything that you draw, do, start! :D
People here are really really nice and help a lot, especially with your wips :)

I see you doing your bone and posemaniac studies, so all i can really suggest is look through these: http://www.conceptart.org/forums/showthread.php?t=131117 and definitely look at those bridgman, loomis and hogarth books!!

That is certainly true!! :D
And you'll see that even though there are a bunch of categories, you find all sorts of information all over conceptART! :teeth:

So you'd better get used to these threads and have a look in the lounge and the CHOW areas too :)
