So a priest and a rabbi wander into a black forest...
Mikecorriero- looked up Bull Mastif on google, looks like a real cutie pie. Me, I'd skip dsg for a day to play with a pup :D

I'm always so impressed with people who can just whip out an environment early in the morning and it's better than I could pull off if I tinkered with it for hours.
Hermchen, that's great... you seem to have used fairly simple swaths of color and it looks great, like an illustration in a faerie tale book.
Maybe I'll do one today...if I can make myself. :)

Haven't been posting lately, but I've been lurking at least. My job is boring (and stupid), so I did this to kill time... with a mouse. ugh, I like my wacom.

ok theres a dark forrest and a haunted hotel. 20 mins gouache wash on too thin paper + some sepia/charcoal strokes. i had this gouache lying around and i was using it for work. fun thing is you can just wet it and use it agian - you cant with acrylics. so this will be lying around all week. and it was reel fun to do. its da vibe.
nice submissions all. ill crit all tomorrow. promis.

I usually avoid environment art like the plauge but I thought that I should make the effort to start. I was going for mood more then technique. :barf:
Some really good work today.

Wow. Some seriously Awesome stuff guys. :chug:
After taking a 2nd and 3rd look at my pic I've realised how blurry and un-textured it is. So for the next dsg I'll try making a sharper, more textured image. :p

@ nBT:  Yeah, that's fairly typical of me. I wasn't to worried about design, I was just trying to practice my digital painting ('cause I obviously need it). Thanx for the rating though, not enough ppl do it so it's hard to tell if your improving or not. Everybody tends to give broad "that's good" or "nice work". I'm guilty of it myself.
