I painted a portrait of my brother in oils today. It was harder than I thought it would be, but I had fun doing it. I will definately do more oil paintings in the future, I like it a lot. I really had a tough time with the eyes for some reason...
Anyways, this is my younger brother, he is about 80 pounds heavier than me and is about 3 inches taller than me, it sucks... He is cool though..
It is 12x16 inches..
sorry for the crappy photo. I have a crappy camera.

looks cool, keep it up, but next time, use a different bg color, that's the ugliest green. and the red and blue on your brother are very strong, tone it down alittle.

Woah, your brother is a cowboy?! Just joking. Cool painting. I agree with jrr. The red on the chin and stuff are a little strong.

Really? You dont like the background? haha, yeah, I know it is ugly. If you knew my brother, you would understand why I chose that color.
I agree about the red and blue below his neck, It takes a lot of the focus away from his face. Next time, I will take that into consideration. And there will be a nextime because I plan on painting my other little brother and sister too...
Thanks for the feedback, I appreciate it greatly...

lies, this is for thunderdome, isn't it?! ISN'T IT?! haha, i jest of course, i am the funny one, that is me.
anyway, much respect to the traditional media artists. i've always wanted to get into oils, but haven't had occasion to have the time or money. i'm with jrr though, your colors look a bit too saturated. great start man.

haha Mal. The t-dome was partly inspirational to this piece. I have been sketching a lot of western stuff the past few days cause of that. I will come out fists a blazin, I'll tell you that...
anyways, this is the reference pic, if you are interested...
