Nice photo manip/illustration you have there.
Just a couple of the things that bug me straight off.
The strange pattern/texture under HIS LEFT eye bugs me, what the hell is it? I find it quite distracting.
Plus in the mouth area, is he a maniquin or puppet? Thats what it looks like to me, is this on purpose?
Is the key hole in his forehead important? If so you should make this stand out more.

This guy is definitely a puppet, so that’s on purpose. As for the key hole, that is also very important to me, but unfortunately it’s a borderline cliché so I tried to tone it down, and make it a more subtle element. that thing under his eye is supposed to be a big paint chip/depression.

That depression under the eye reads fine to me. If I had to give any critisism, it's that the bridge of his nose looks a little too sharp, especially towards the top. But even then I'm reaching a little.

Two words: displacement mapping. Using the Displace filter, with some judicious preparation of your grayscale displacement map beforehand, will help those cracks curve a lot better over the surface of the model's face.
Alternatively, you can break apart various pieces and rotate them.
It could also use some work along the facial edges - lips, nose, etc. - to show how the wooden surface picks up light. right now it looks too much like a layer slapped on top. This will involve some painting, but just with darks and lights, best done on their own layer for easy adjustment.
All three suggestions involve a lot of work, but I think the effect will sell better if the cracks follow the coutours of the face better.
Hope this helps,

Great! peace. Nicely done the only thing I saw was the right eye alot bigger compaired to the left one and need to give the top a bit more depth.
