So I'm going to a bunch of open houses, and I've found out about a school that is in my state (New Jersey) called the Joe Kubert School of Cartooning. I was considering applying to SVA for their cartooning program, but now also want to check out this Joe Kubert place.
Has anyone heard anything from alumni/know anything about it? It's sort of like a technical/trade school for cartooning, sequential art and animation.
Because of the intensity of the courses, I hear it referred to as the "boot camp of the industry". Comics/Graphic Novels/Conceptual Art/Video Game Art is something I desperately want to do for the rest of my life. Just looking for any opinions or experiences before I head to the open house. SVAs is tomorrow (going!) and Kubert's is next Saturday.
BTW, the schools are equally far from my house (New York is to the east more than Dover, which is further north) time-wise, so it's either an hour and a half by train (ok fine 75 minutes on the rare express I can catch) or an hour and a half to Dover by car.
