Glodin The Pipe Smoking Tree Gnome

Okay I have to say this is the best work I have done with my Wacom pad yet... it took me 45 minutes, which is too long I admit.

I'm anxious to know whether this stands up to basic pencil or pen-work... though I know the amount of detail is pretty sub-par, and I have alot of skill to develop using the Wacom...

I feel I am progressing pretty well though, as only a week ago I wasn't able to do more then doodle squiggly shapes...

Anyway... any comments are appreciated: Just keep in mind, this is not a final draft, I have to finish shading the tree, the mushrooms, the grass, the mountains... the gnome is the only part that is finished.

well..first of all, his foot holding the pipe is backwards...hes got 2 right feet!! poor fellow!
you also might wanna check those colors....they hurt the eyes a bit, last time i checked, grass wasnt neon green :eek:

Thanks for pointing that out, I will change the foot, and as you mentioned fix the color of the grass ( I knew it was bright but hey... it's a gnome in dream land so I figured whatever).

The positin is well done but it is kind of funny you gave him two right......at least he might be able to dance(get it instead of two left feet hahahaha...haha....ha....haha..wooo)

The colors and line texture are dead on MSPaint.

I put the finished pic in a new thread but here it is anyway.

See how I just changed the colors to more appropriate ones, fixed his leg (but forgot to shade it :rolleyes:), detailed the grass, the tree, and the mountains...

I decided not to add clouds, it's a timid day, hence his lounging and smoking.

I'm under the impression that all fantasy creatures smoke pipes. Is it just me, or does anyone else notice this as well?

It's a cool, trippy sort of picture. Especially with those shrooms.

The smoke rings look like they are coming out of the top of his head, not the pipe.

Heh, yes gnomes are fond of smoking pipes I suppose. What else is there to do if you live in the forest... sit down, load a bowl and relax.

Those mushrooms look deadly potent as well but one nibble would be enough to send Glodin out of this dimension... so he refrains.

Anywho...
Fantasy creatures do not roll joints because papers are hard to come by without factories to make them.
